There are people today who I believe lack proper drive-thru etiquette. What I think to be proper drive etiquette is when going through a drive- thru; one makes their order short and is prepared, resulting in speedy service. One should not order fifteen coffees; one coffee for themselves and one coffee for everyone else they work with. This is a prime example of what not to do in a drive-thru, considering they were designed to speed up the ordering process, not slow it down. Since there are people who choose to do such things like placing a large order, it has now made the drive-thru slower then going inside. Therefore, orders should be kept to a minimum, such as 1-4 coffees.
Along with placing large orders, there are also those who reach the window and do not have their payment ready. This is another reason that slows down the process. While sitting in line waiting to reach the window, people should be getting their payment ready. By doing this less time is wasted in line for them, and those waiting in line behind.
And finally, when deciding to stop at a restaurant and choosing the drive-thru, one should already know what they want to order. It is unfair to those waiting in line when someone is sitting at the window trying to decide what they want to order. These decisions should be made on the way to the restaurant, by the time it is that person’s turn to order.
In the end, by not placing large orders and not wasting time in the drive thru, people will then portray proper drive-thru etiquette, pleasing many other users of what is meant to be a speedy system for ordering!
This will give you a little laugh!
